February Jazz: Remi Harris Duo

Whelley Ex-Servicemen’s Club Vauxhall Road Wigan WN13LU

27th February 2022 – Sunday Jazz

Remi Harris is a UK Jazz, Blues & Rock guitarist whose playing draws inspiration from artists such as
Django Reinhardt, Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, Stan Getz, Peter Green and Led Zeppelin.

From the age of seven he has dedicated himself to a life of guitar playing, although, it could be said that music chose him much earlier after his mother named him by the 2nd and 3rd notes of the major scale “Do-Re-Mi”.

Remi has been seen performing at many prestigious venues and events around the world, including Buckingham Palace, Montreal Jazz Festival, BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall with Jamie Cullum, as well as appearing on national radio and television.

In his live shows Remi plays an eclectic mix of jazz standards, improvisations, original compositions and new arrangements of his favourite tunes. He plays a variety of acoustic and electric guitars and the shows are interspersed with his commentary about the history of the music and instruments he’s playing. Remi will be joined by virtuoso double bassist Tom Moore.

“An incredible guitarist… I’m absolutely blown away by his talent”
